Style is personal, ever-evolving, and—at its best—shared with a best friend who just gets you. For Caitlin and Danika, CC Ambassadors and co-hosts of The Delulu Diaries Podcast, fashion is more than just what they wear; it’s a reflection of their confidence, creativity, and the fun they have together.
In this exclusive Q&A, Caitlin and Danika dive into their unique fashion journeys, from carefully curated capsule wardrobes to bold, statement-making looks. They share their favorite style inspirations, the impact City Chic has had on their wardrobes, and how their friendship influences what they wear. Plus, they give us a peek into their Valentine’s and Galentine’s Day plans—complete with the perfect CC outfits. ❤️
You are both CC Ambassador’s, tell us a little about your individual style?
Caitlin: I’m very safe when it comes to style. I really struggled with finding my style when I was in my 20s, particularly for work, but over the past few years have slowly been building a capsule wardrobe that I have grown to absolutely adore and feel confident in.
I lean towards a lot of neutral colours: black, beige, tan, white, grey. They are so easy to mix and match, always create effortlessly chic outfits and are perfect for work. I want to take more inspiration from Danika this year and start introducing more bold, colourful choices into my style to make it more fun and playful.
Danika: I'm still figuring out my signature style, but one thing's for sure: I wear what makes me feel confident and happy. Sometimes it's a classic and neutral look, other times it's something bold and bright. Experimenting with different styles helps me step outside my comfort zone and discover new sides of myself. It’s funny Caitlin says she wants to be more maximalist with her wardrobe this year because I definitely want to invest in some good quality, neutral staples that will help me build outfits, whatever my mood.
Who or where do you find your fashion inspiration from and why?
Caitlin: I get most of my fashion inspiration from TikTok! As a size 20, I have wasted so many hours finding style inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram, only for the clothing to be sold up to size 16 (if you’re lucky), whereas TikTok’s search algorithm is so perfectly coded that I can not only search for size 20 inspiration and be delivered what I’m looking for, but my algorithm keeps feeding it to me so now I’m exposed to a never ending list of clothing options that work for my size.
Some of my favourite creators are Bianca Heaven, Tayla Chantelle and Kate Wasley. I also get a lot of everyday inspiration from my friends—I’m constantly asking where they get their clothes from and I have no shame in copying them!
Danika: Similar to Caitlin, I get my fashion and style inspo from socials. Pinterest is a treasure trove of visual ideas, no matter what style you’re going for. I love how I can curate boards and save specific images that resonate with me. I use those images as a starting point, and adjust the idea and look to suit my body shape and personal preferences.
TikTok has also been a fantastic platform for discovering new brands and content creators who are a similar size and style to me. Some of my favourite creators (other than the ones Caitin mentioned because they’re also a slay!) are Maddy Zanatta (@maddyzanatta), Aisha Nikora (@itsaishanikora) and Seb Ellen (@seb.ellen). Seeing how these creators style themselves gives me valuable real-life inspiration and helps me feel more confident in my own body and style choices.

How has CC contributed to your style? (Do you have a history with our brand/have you noticed anything new?
Caitlin: City Chic has helped me to live my capsule wardrobe, sophisticated chic dream where any outfit I wear is suitable for work and pleasure. I’m lazy when it comes to dressing—I need my wardrobe to all go together, so I know I can pick almost anything and walk away looking put together. I know I can pull any City Chic item from my wardrobe and look sophisticated and also appropriate for a client meeting, without dimming my style or sacrificing comfort.
Danika: City Chic deserve their flowers because they’ve always embraced inclusivity authentically. I feel like they have really smashed it out the park with the selection of styles they’ve been stocking recently – the styles are made for bigger bodies and very on trend, without compromising on quality or comfort.
Hand on heart, the pieces I immediately reach towards, whether it be for work or dinner and drinks with the girls, are from City Chic. One of my biggest style lessons is to always wear pieces that properly fit you. With City Chic, it’s a confidence boost knowing I can easily find trendy pieces that fit and flatter my body as it is.
As best friends, how do you influence each other’s fashion styles?
Caitlin: Because we have such different fashion styles at heart, with me being the more conservative, capsule wardrobe vibe and Danika being more colourful and playful, our styles actually complement each other well. If I need a pop of colour to bring my outfit to life, I can dive into Danika’s wardrobe, just as she can lean on my wardrobe for the perfect basic to build her outfit around.
Danika: I have a tendency to go real rogue with some of my online purchases, so I’m now in the habit of pitching the items in my cart to Caitlin before I checkout. It’s almost like an episode of Shark Tank, where I have to persuade Caitlin that the cost per wear on an item will be minimal and the return on investment would be happiness and compliments.
Tell us a little bit about when you started your Podcast Journey?
Our podcast journey started in 2019. We were sat at Agatha’s in Port Noarlunga, having breakfast after a gym session when we somehow started talking about podcasts. I remember we looked at each other and said, ‘Should we just start our own podcast? It can’t be that hard?’.
When we first met, we bonded over our joint love for One Direction, celebrities, stan culture and as we grew older, those shared interests evolved into pop culture, film, television and books. We are just two girls who love to watch and read things, so it felt like an easy topic to talk about. A few months down the line, we launched The Pop. Podcast, which fell by the way in 2020.
Fast forward to 2023, we had both experienced changes in our lives and Danika was the first to say she missed doing the podcast. I found myself looking back at old episodes and thought, we were actually really good at this. But it wasn’t as simple as just picking up where things left off. The distributor we had been using had sunsetted, so we lost access to The Pop. Podcast, and had to start from scratch. Next thing you know, we’re sitting in Gelatissimo in Glenelg brainstorming names for our new podcast and the rest is history.
As best friends, how is it working together on the Delulu Podcast?
Caitlin: Doing the podcast together doesn’t feel like anything more than just us hanging out for 90 minutes a week, talking about life, celebrities, movies and TV we’ve watched and books we’ve read. We don’t change or filter anything for the podcast—you are listening to or watching a real window into our friendship.
If anything, it’s probably brought us closer together, especially as the podcast grows and we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do more, like work with brands such as City Chic. I have so much fun doing the podcast with Danika, and it’s probably the thing I am most proud of. I would never want to do this alone or with anyone else. It’s either together, or not at all.
Danika: Caitlin is spot on – there is no one else I’d want to do this podcast with. And there’s probably no one else who could put up with me interrupting them as often as I interrupt Caitlin with an immediate thought that slides off my brain. It genuinely doesn’t feel like work and I’m so proud of how we’ve been able to grow our platform and our community. The hardest part is going through the week and keeping my opinions about the content I’ve digested to myself until our recording day so we can yell about it together.
What is your fave CC Valentine’s day look and why?
Caitlin:I’m a pants/shorts girly through and through. I feel very passionately about my legs having their own lanes, so the City Chic Emma Skort is my absolute favourite Valentine’s Day look because I can stay true to my love for shorts, while elevating my look for a nice dinner or drinks at the bar.
Danika: I love a pop of colour and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to experiment with that. During summer, I really am all about comfort while still looking elevated, so for me my go-to look would be something like the Lilia Pant in red with the Tube Halo Top in ivory. Pairing this with some white pointed heels, chefs kiss
How will you be both celebrating Galentine’s Day?
We will be spending Galentine’s Day the same way we spend every other day of the year: together. We’re actually going to be seeing Dom Dolla at LIV Golf in Adelaide with our friends, which we are super excited for as we have been wanting to see Dom Dolla for a very long time!
If you see two short women with no rhythm busting some questionable moves at the very back…that’s probably us.
